Plan Your Visit to Tom Bass Park

Tom Bass Park is free, but it's split into three sections with separate entrances. Knowing which one you need is most of the planning.

Which section?

  • Section I, 3452 Fellows Road: the 6-acre dog park, the 18-hole disc golf course, the Performing Arts Pavilion, BBQ pavilions and playgrounds.
  • Section II, 3902 Fellows Road: Clear Creek Golf Club.
  • Section III, 15108 Cullen Blvd.: the 23-acre fishing lake, the community center, playgrounds with a kids' obstacle course, tennis and volleyball.

The 23-acre lake is stocked by Texas Parks & Wildlife with catfish and, in winter, rainbow trout. Kids under 17 fish free; adults need a Texas license with a freshwater endorsement. Pole and line only, two poles per person, and a daily bag limit of 5 fish.

Dog owners and disc golfers

The free 6-acre dog park (7 a.m. to dusk) has big- and small-dog areas; dogs need current vaccinations and tags, two per adult. Nearby, the free 18-hole disc golf course added in 2021 plays wide, flat fairways; a round takes about an hour and a half.

Families and golfers

Section III's playgrounds include a kids' obstacle course; shade is limited, so bring hats and water. Clear Creek Golf Club is a public 18-hole, par-72 links-style course; call 713-738-8000 for tee times.
